GABL Future Gray 2027 Wins De Soto Youth Basketball Tournament

(DE SOTO, KS) - The GABL Future 2027 won the De Soto Youth Basketball Tournament on November 13th. The tournament victory gives the 2027 team their second straight tournament win of the Winter Season. The 2027 team went 1-1 during pool play on Saturday losing to the Wildcats in game 1 and defeating Piper White in game 2.  
The 2027 team went into Sunday's games not only needing to win three games in a row to win the championship, but needed to win three games with only 6 players. In game 1, the 2027 team started off hot and never looked back defeating LTD White by over 20 points. They would carry that momentum into their semi-final game with another 20 point win, this time defeating the Saints to set-up a rematch with the Wildcats for the championship.
In the championship game, the Wildcats jumped out to a quick lead, but the 2027 Future Team began to battle back and would avenge their only loss of the tournament to win the De Soto Youth Basketball Tournament. " The team played with a lot of heart this weekend," explained Coach Shaun Hanson," playing one game with 6 players is hard, let alone three games. They played consistently good defense and were able to make adjustments in the finals to secure the win. Proud of the effort they gave all weekend."
